Financial models that make green energy bankable
About
I'm Yizhar Baumer, an economist with a master's degree in economics and the CFO of the technology company OffdeGrid. My core expertise is renewable-energy finance, with a focus on hybrid microgrids, energy storage technologies (lithium-ion batteries), and solar (PV) systems.
What do I do? My main service is building complex economic and financial models for solar power plants, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and cogeneration and wind projects. My work includes:
- Analyzing the output of solar systems (PV yields) and assessing their viability against alternatives such as diesel generators.
- Pricing and developing financial models for off-grid power solutions (such as NexusPod configurations).
- Defining advanced economic logic for generation scenarios — for example, programming production limits during off-peak hours independent of the season.
What value do I bring? My core value is translating engineering and energy data into the numbers that drive investment. I make sure green-energy projects are bankable. Using the models I build, I help entrepreneurs, investors, and companies maximize a project's internal rate of return (IRR), minimize risk, and prove that the shift to smart, clean energy isn't just the right thing for the environment — it's also profitable and financially worthwhile.
