The real challenge: storage and transport

One of the biggest challenges in the hydrogen economy is not only producing the energy — it is storing and transporting it. Hydrogen is an efficient and clean gas, but moving it in high-pressure tanks requires complex infrastructure, raises costs and creates significant safety challenges.

This is where Hy-Gen(TM) takes a completely different approach: instead of transporting hydrogen, it produces hydrogen exactly where it is needed — and exactly when it is needed.

Like a coffee capsule, but for hydrogen

The idea is similar to a coffee-capsule machine. Instead of a coffee capsule, the system uses a specially activated aluminum capsule. When the capsule is inserted into the system and ordinary water is added, a chemical reaction releases clean hydrogen gas, which is fed directly into the energy system — with no need to store compressed hydrogen gas.

Circular economy: industrial waste becomes fuel

Another advantage of the technology is the use of industrial waste as a raw material. Aluminum chips from manufacturing plants are processed and turned into new fuel capsules. This creates a circular-economy model: raw materials are reused, and the capsules are collected after use for recycling and preparation for another cycle.

Performance and energy density

According to the company, every 9 kg of aluminum fuel produces about 1 kg of hydrogen. The company also claims the system has significantly higher energy density than lithium batteries, which may extend the operating range of vehicles and electric equipment without adding substantial weight.

A range extender — not a battery replacement

It is important to understand that the system is not intended to replace the battery, but to complement it. It works as a range extender: for everyday use, regular charging can handle the routine load; on long trips, remote sites or emergency scenarios, hydrogen can be generated on site to keep supplying energy without emissions.

Safety: low pressure, lower risk

A major safety advantage is that hydrogen is not stored in large quantities. It is generated and consumed immediately, so the system operates at low pressures and reduces the risks associated with transporting compressed hydrogen.

First commercial product: a 5 kW generator

According to the company's plans, the first commercial product will be a modular 5 kW generator designed for construction sites, backup systems, off-grid applications and various logistics uses.

A new route to accessible hydrogen energy
